Modak Chawal Atta (500g)
Ingredients: Fragrant Rice
For Coconut Filling:-
Mix the grated coconut & jaggery together, cook until they are mixed. Add cardamom powder and dry fruits.
For the Outer Cover:-
In one cup of boiling water add 1 tbs oil and 1 cup of Modak Chawal Atta. Stir it continuously to avoid lumps. Cover with lid for 5 mins. Knead it while hot and make a soft dough.
To make the Modaks:-
Start when the dough is slightly warm. Grease the palm with oil and flatten a ball of dough to form a cup shape. Place about 3/4* teaspoon coconut filling into this cup. Dip thumb and index finger in the oil and make 5-6 small pinches side by side on the outer edges of the cup. Bring them together on top and join to form a peak. Steam the Modaks for 15 mins. It appears like garlic pod. Serve hot with lots of ghee on the top. 500g makes approximately 20-25 Modaks.
